This is one of the oldest songs I’ve written; it was originally written long ago, sometime during elementary school. It was a lot simpler back then, of course, consisting mostly of very slight variations on the 5-note refrain (though back then it was only 4 notes, if I recall correctly) with only block chords for the left hand–and it also had some lyrics. I don’t know why I decided to rewrite it in high school, but I did, and the result is still one of my favorite pieces.
